Daniel the 300PF works a charm on the a9.
The 500PF does NOT work at all.
Commlite is working on a big update, couple of months I hope and the 500mm
can perform like the 300.

This is exciting, was likewise really excited for the 500 PF when i saw it, even if its a bit out of budget for me right now... Maybe sometime

Does it take TCs well?

Awesome, thanks for sharing. Somehow, I'm drawn to the Raven. A pub I assume? ;-)a

Yes. Looked a lovely place but obviously closed when we ventured past.

Good on you Lee for the up and early start.

That's a lie in ;)

Miranda1 wrote in post #18714329 (external link)
I was thinking the same thing Lee, how did you manage to get these shots with soo ittle amount of people or cars? It was an absolute zoo when I was there the last time. I would love to go back in the autumn for late day or early morning shots, the colour of the stone work in the buildings just call out for that time of day shooting.

It did get busy earlier than I thought it would in all honesty. By 9:30 there were quite a few people around and all the cafe and coffee shops were open.

I've only tried 1.4TCiii and is like it's not even there.
Haven't given the 1.7TCii a go yet. I don't think I'd be able to follow anything an an effective 1250mm anyway.

Something that wasn't an elk from this past weekend...I also spent the middle third of Saturday hiking Big Creek again...didn't have the right lens, so had to use the 85GM and shoot a pano...I still love the details that 42MP offers...and the DR...

Thanks. I think it's a stamp from the Studio where it was shot. I decided to keep it.

Great cityscapes. NO cars, NO people. How did you pull that off ????

you can also do multiple very long exposures and get the same result, youll need a strong ND filter though or you can do it at night

That's a good idea, I've done that using a 10 stop ND filter during the cherry blossom seanson here in Toronto, it gets absolutely crazy. Not sure I would be using a tripod in Bath though, just too many people on the street at any given point in time. Actually I don't mind the people in these types of shots, it's the parked cars that ruin it form me. The Circus in Bath is a good example of what I'm referring too, such a great location but cars in the shots really distract from the views.

I've been shooting with additional gear lately, three tripods if you count the table top! Been thinking of a third camera like an rx100...

Not sure, but size an issue.
