From last weekend's trip to Reelfoot Lake.
Every time we've gone to Reelfoot it has given us critters.
But if you ever go to see the bierdlife you'll need to get on the water.
This was our 5th year in a row going and we've gone in every season.
This was the first time ever not finding/imaging an owl :( We heard them
but just couldn't locate.

That's a good idea, I've done that using a 10 stop ND filter during the cherry blossom seanson here in Toronto, it gets absolutely crazy. Not sure I would be using a tripod in Bath though, just too many people on the street at any given point in time. Actually I don't mind the people in these types of shots, it's the parked cars that ruin it form me. The Circus in Bath is a good example of what I'm referring too, such a great location but cars in the shots really distract from the views.

That's why I didn't shoot the Circus or Royal Crescent ;) Cars!!

I've been shooting with additional gear lately, three tripods if you count the table top! Been thinking of a third camera like an rx100...

Not sure, but size an issue.

have you ever messed with GoPro Charlie?

My son's 1st game ever as a pitcher. I'm glad I took off work early and was able to capture the moment. He did really good and I'm so proud of him!!!!

Pulled the Sigma 105 f2.8 macro out of the bag for the first time in ages. Pretty happy with the results, especially the detail coming through the leaves.

those are excellent Talley! 200 f/2?

Yes sir. My pride and joy. I started off with the 100-400 GM but I quickly moved to the 200.

It doesn’t track so it’s basically shooting a game in one shot mode but for pitching it didn’t matter. I wanted the ultra clarity that lens provided.

Plus shooting through the fence it just melts the fencing away. Couldn’t even tell I did it like that.

The first image is the 200/2 the second is the Sony 85 1.8

Just Act Normal....

...and maybe no one will notice...that was the look this Bull Elk seemed to have as he walked around with a sizable tree branch stuck in his antlers...he seemed to be a bit embarrassed by his predicament...he resorted to trying to eat the leaves off...it was a little amusing to me...his facial expressions seemed so much different than the others, his eyes said....I can't believe this thing is stuck on my head...and how in the heck am I gonna remove it...fun times shooting the Elk in the Ocanaluftee River in the Great Smoky Mountains with the GNPA folks.

I promise not to post too many more elk...I only have a couple more...LOL...this frame actually stretched the limits in DR for the a9...the little hot spots that I couldn't get back were frustrating but a little PS work fixed it. Still impressed by the ISO performance...

It was on my to-do list way back, sort of forgot about it. Hero 7 + trade in deal looks real good.

I'm hoping it takes some sort of trigger cable, but not a total breaker if it can't.

Even shooting at 15’ behind the fence the 200/2 makes the fence invisible.

Some bad news coming in on DJI Mavic 2 pro

a very technical guy, and TLDR version, the Mavic 2 pro is much lower resolution compared to the p4p, and closer to IQ of a 1/2.3 sensor. I noticed this on detailed comparison videos, and some research leads to this guy.

Pretty darn shocking, you can see midway through that the Mavic 2 pro is basically no better than the mavic air for video, and wide FOV, even worse.

There are some good meetup groups in the area that setup shoots with models. I've done them a few times and they're worth doing.

I just watched a refurb a7riii sell for $23x0 and an a99ii sell for $1727 on eBay from a vendor have purchased from several times.

It was hard to watch them sell for so little—has anyone seen these bodies sell for less than that?

Yup, I've been watching it closely. Good thing for me I'm not that critical for video and my Mavic 2 Pro is 90% photos where the 20MP really shines.

I think I'm going to keep my mavic air too. It's IQ is really good for the size of the thing.
