Yup, I've been watching it closely. Good thing for me I'm not that critical for video and my Mavic 2 Pro is 90% photos where the 20MP really shines.

I think I'm going to keep my mavic air too. It's IQ is really good for the size of the thing.

I'm going to let this shake out a bit, but after seeing this, leaning more towards the zoom, or simply get the Air :-P

Either way, now I'm confused on which to get. The stills from the M2P are probably very good, but I'm 50/50 stills/video, so the video aspects of it would hurt. I'm just glad that it's being vetted now rather than after I buy :p

What focusing mode were you using? I usually set 125/s as the minimum boundary.

Also...efcs on or off?

AFC , expandable small.
EFC on ..

maybe I need to start shooting on a tripod.

I have a "big" shoot coming on Monday oct1 , that i've now rescheduled for oct 8th.. so that I can figure out what went wrong

it was a backlit situation often ..

in the mean time ive scheduled a "small" :p shoot with a different model for the 1st .. which will act as a trouble shooter.

the 2 models I had originally scheduled for the 1st need to be done properly

completely baffled by what went wrong..

.. and why wouldn't my ad360's keep up .. I think at most they were at 1/8 power but mostly about 1/16.. maybe they were over heating?
and so couldn't keep up with what I wanted.. I do admit I did shoot a lot.

i'm considering continuous lighting.. aputure 300d

Some bad news coming in on DJI Mavic 2 pro

a very technical guy, and TLDR version, the Mavic 2 pro is much lower resolution compared to the p4p, and closer to IQ of a 1/2.3 sensor. I noticed this on detailed comparison videos, and some research leads to this guy.

Pretty darn shocking, you can see midway through that the Mavic 2 pro is basically no better than the mavic air for video, and wide FOV, even worse.

From the author of the video:
Get it!...it's a GREAT product. I know it sounds like I'm "slamming" it but I'm only "partially" slamming it. On the whole,..it truly is a fantastic product for the price! Don't let my video stop you from buying it. Just don't expect a Phantom 4 Pro image quality.

I'm active on a few quad sites. The general consensus is while it still sucks to hear this..... the video quality is still better than the MP1. Added features... I could see you benefiting from the hyperlapse and the 1" sensor will help give a better night time hyperlapse.

The cameras are interchangeable with just a few screws to take out and a quick swap. I'm waiting to see if I ever need the zoom I'll just order the camera and have both to swap. The firmware is in the camera itself so nothing you need to do in the app.

Yes sir. My pride and joy. I started off with the 100-400 GM but I quickly moved to the 200.

It doesn’t track so it’s basically shooting a game in one shot mode but for pitching it didn’t matter. I wanted the ultra clarity that lens provided.

Plus shooting through the fence it just melts the fencing away. Couldn’t even tell I did it like that.

The first image is the 200/2 the second is the Sony 85 1.8

dream lens. Can’t justify it but would love one

Dang! I need to watch this video later but it doesn’t sound good. I was moving closer to a purchase

Edit - is it just a video issue? I’m interested mainly for stills

Edit 2- just caught up with the rest of the posts on this above

yeah I got that, but I'm still hugely conflicted since I did consider the zoom version, FOV sorta makes a big impact on its own.

zoom vs IQ in stills..... I'm about 50/50 stills/video at this point, and the technical side of me says FOV can get me better B-roll, regardless of sensor size... but the photographer in me pulling me back to the sensor :-P

it's too bad the cameras werent easily interchangeable or 1" with zoom...

Even shooting at 15’ behind the fence the 200/2 makes the fence invisible.
