There is a Sandhill Crane family that wanders a heavily-trafficked shopping plaza near my house. I worry about their safety with the bad drivers in my town, as these birds take their sweet time crossing the road and seem to have little fear of humans. They had babies in the past year, but I've never had my camera with me when I've seen the chicks.

Thanks for the love, Robert!

Speaking of love—how about the images you are cranking out with the Nikkor 300? What you have posted with that lens, so far, rivals your work with the 400 DO IMHO.

I’m still jealous of your cardinals.

I just missed a Hawk snatching a squirrel out of my back yard last week. I had just clicked my camera on, and begun to aim when the bad boy escaped with his prize.
