I have opteka and Canon hoods. I've found that the flocking tends to attract crud like lint and sand and eventually starts to fleck off.

ET-73B for the 70-300L has flocking.

Does anybody know if the EW-78E for the 15-85 have flocking? I already have a generic hood but it might be worth looking for a original if the Canon one has.

And if anybody is wondering, you can install the EW-73B on the 18-135 USM and it fits perfectly, not tight or loose. The hood also installs on the 70-300L, looks funny.

Maybe you can add your hoods so we can all see which ones do not come with the flocking.

EF400mm f/2.8L IS USM (non IS) . - . original hood has flocking

EF400mm f/2.8L IS USM (version 1) . - . original hood has flocking

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".
