Very nice, Jeff. Man alive; those guys are really tall. Where would an average size person's head come up to on this moose?

Gosh Thanks... Theres some really great talent here. When I get near wildlife with a camera I just go to work calmly and try and improve every single time.

Primo shot, Jeff.

It’s true they are tall... I would not be up to his back at 6 foot. Some make you feel quite small once your both on level ground. I was standing tall taking these images. He stopped coming at around 30 feet and put his head as high as he could to ponder as to whether I was a threat or not. He decided I was not and went left into the bush grunting with every step.

I can’t tell you how much I wish I had the video and audio for all to see. That’s my next step in my quest to record the wildlife around me.

I must say I think if money was not an issue and I could have anything I wished.. The 1DxII would be what I carried regardless of weight for a good percentage of my shooting. Its just very hard to justify when your just a country bumpkin shooting the stuff in your back yard. I make excuses as to why but really its money lol

I fellow on here showed me that the 1D cameras can be so very good... I owe him a great deal of gratitude. He knows who he is... lol

I am still buying the lottery tickets, Jeff.

Of all the 7DII's I've used and owned in the last 4 years, ( right around 10 I guess. ) some were good, some were great, one I thought was magic...

This one is the greatest of them all. Same old 100-400mm and 1.4III.. one heck of a big difference in IQ. Bring on the wolves, Lynx, cougars.... I'm ready now.

Made the right choice in staying with the 7DII

O and thanks for putting up with my whining..

did a little test between using my 5DIII and 7DII and to be honest in most cases with these small birds the 7DII won because I have a bigger file, cropping the 5DIII is a waste of time with small animals. Plus 10 frames a second and better auto focus on 7DII. I put the images together and as computer images very little difference, the 7DII detail is quite good i think, imagine if i had a more expensive lens!!!

Nice shot Julie, I don't know if "a more expensive lens!!!" could be any better. I am pondering purchasing this same lens. I have a Canon 100~400 L version I, but would love a little more reach. How's yours been on your 7DII?

Pretty good, I find it a little softer on my full frame, not sure why but its pretty much permanently attached to the 7DII, I sold my 100-400L mark one to purchase it

Not enough portraits in this thread. 7d2, ad200, parapop 38. My attempt at making the most of the afternoon sun while fighting off that worst mosquitos I have ever seen.

After a year, I still find the 100-400 with the 7D2 is a great combination.
