I need some advice. I've been seeing videos online about how the Phantom 4 Pro blows the Mavic 2 Pro out of the water with IQ. Even though I thought that may be hype at first, I've done a bit of research. Not only does it appear that the P4P is MUCH better quality, I've seen videos now showing the Mavic 2 Zoom and Mavic Air with better IQ than the Pro. Also someone did tests and it appears that the Mavic 2 Pro doesn't even use the whole 1" sensor.

So I did some research for myself. I tested the camera of the Mavic 2 Pro vs. the Sony RX100V (supposedly the same sensor). The difference is shocking. The RX100V looks SO MUCH BETTER.

I feel lied to by DJI, and I'm seriously considering returning the drone. I received it on the 30th of August so I still have a few days to return it I think. I spent almost a total of $2000 when it was said and done, and I'm getting Mavic Air quality apparently.

I made a video about my test vs. the RX100V that will be released shortly. I'll post when it's finished.

This has been my great concern as well. I'm past my 14 day return window so it looks like I'm stuck with a drone that may live up to what DJI claimed. My understanding though is the IQ impacts video more than stills. Not sure.

I was not aware that there was only a 14 day return period. I thought it was 30. I just sent an email to DJI with my concerns. The video quality is definitely lacking what it should be.

Although I'm glad I don't do video, the more I read about this issue I don't feel as perfect as I did when I first bought it. I still don't believe this affects still IQ, as my images from both M2P and P4P are definitely comparable. BUT, what if I do want to explore into doing video later on? Hmmm.. This is definitely not good news in general, especially for video guys. For me though, I'm ok. I bought the M2P just to take aerial photos and to take with me everywhere, so my purpose is somewhat served. I'll worry about video quality when I actually start considering..

Putting that in there probably cost more than that plane is worth.

Also, you should share that here.

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.
You're a ghost driving a meat-coated skeleton made from stardust, riding a rock, hurtling through space. Fear Nothing!

Great job completely missing the point. It's a camera comparison of two sensors that are supposed to be the same, yet give off drastically different results. Of course the Mavic is better than the RX100 when taking video from the air. But the quality is not up to advertised par.

This was shot on a partly cloudy day and after I set them up I waited til the sun was behind the clouds for nice even lighting. I just edited it in Lightroom and added a color balance layer in photoshop
