Today was the first time in three years that I've gone out for moose. It was a nice day for it and there were quite a few moving around. Nothing extraordinary happened. Thought I was going to see a couple of fights but both times one of them backed down at the last minute and there was peace in the valley.

A big guy and his gal. Well one of them. There were two hanging around.

On the way back to my truck I ran across this lovely lady with a child in tow. The calf never would clear so I could get them both in the frame. She was backlit but I gave it a try. I know I broke all the rules with bright BG, blah blah blah.

The wonders of a zoom lens.

Excellent! Sadly we don't see moose in MT as often as we did 10+ years ago.

That bull is a dandy. Nice pics. Sadly most of our moose have gone to feed our hungry imported wolves. Sure do miss seeing moose.

Thanks for commenting, folks. First one I ever saw was in Grand Tetons NP a few years before moving to AK.
