not being insensitive...but is the Succos holiday killing anyone else...LOL...I have a decent dollar amount return into B&H that is stuck because of this holiday closing, it got there the day before the closing...I have stuff I want to order but B&H and Adorama are both closed! And for a long time! I feel like a Junkie who needs a fix...

In studio related news...a friend moved into a rental house recently, the previous tenant ghosted the owner...but left behind some studio gear...not sure what yet...I know there are lights, stands, backdrops etc...anyway, the friend is letting me have it, since he has no need for it and the Owner has tried to get in touch with the previous tenant for 6 months...I am looking to do a little more studio type work as it comes around...

We open today.....:-D

Kohekoke Church on the Awhitu Peninsula. About and hour and half drive south west of Auckland's CBD. Bit of a drive all around to the southern side of the Manukau Harbour, but worth the trip for this well photographed church.
We had a bit of cloud last night, but the trip was still great fun and worth the effort

That really is amazing. Agree - needs to be seen to full effect in Flickr
Love the way the landscape curves up to meet the sky at the gate with the church sitting in midst and the reverse arching of the sky.

We wanted to shoot from the hill just on the left, but the clouds rolled in and was getting late to get back home at a decent hour. Was after midnight as it was lol

So I need two tickets to NZ end of September/first of October right? You will guide us????
I spent 3 weeks in NZ and never looked up :( Probably before you were born Gaab. That is just so enticing!

What is yours doing? My sync got all screwed up somehow. I've got it all rebuilt now but it took quite a bit of doing. I'm running it on a Mid 2014 MacBook Pro, 15" 2.5 i7 with 16 gb ram.

LR starts, but it just sits, I get the spinning blue wheel of indecision...and if you click anywhere...it goes to (Not Responding) and crashes...

Are you using an external drive to store your catalog and/or images?

my catalog is stored on the primary OS hardrive, and all of the images are on a separate internal drive, so not external...I have had this issue before and it got resolved by purging the cache and backing up the catalog...I need to optimize it, and then get it to back up...but when it tried to backup on Monday night...it crashed in the middle of the backup, and since that, it has been unusable...if I could, I would start a new catalog all over...but I can't seem to even get to LR enough to do anything.

EDIT/UPDATE:
By accident...I launched LR from the CC app...and it worked fine...and then I figured it out...I was trying to launch the older version of LR from the icon in the taskbar...but because Adobe makes a new shortcut for it everytime it updates, that old one was trying to open the old version I guess...and that was causing it to have a seizure...

Back home from a week in the low country, specifically the area around Savannah=Savannah National Wildlife Refuge, the Harris
Neck Nat. Wildlife Ref. and a couple of days on Tybee hoping for a Black Skimmer.
But as promised to self I did use the Tamron 28-75/left the FE 24-105 at home.

As some of you know I'm dipping my toes into Nikon land. When I saw the 500mm F5.6 PF (owning a 400DOii) I immediately pre-ordered.
Problem was I didn't own a Nikon body :)
So bought a D500 to put the 500mm on.
So I've been working overtime trying to get to grips in the Nikon system

But one day at Harris Neck I did use the Tamron 28-75. Primo is all I can say after having shot with it for quite a bit.
Eriet has one I think. I had to do a firmware update to get my copy up to speed.
I'll def. carry it more often.

In this shot I got an unintentional Egret in flight-

That's very nice scene. Well composed.
It has so much to look at and yet it's not busy.
Nice colours with the water adding to its beauty.

Here's a 7 shot stitch pano via the Tamron FE 28-75 of one of the many ponds of Harris Neck NWR. Poof walked me here one day 6 miles :(
At the beginning of the pond is where the shot above was taken.
The 7 shot pano stitch was almost 30K mpx.
If you look closely (Flickr) you'll see hundreds of white dots. There were over 1000 Wood Storks there one day, and incredibly all gone the next.
