I received my pro-100 a week ago and really like it a lot. Setup (wireless) was super easy. Prints look exactly as on the screen, I haven’t wasted a single sheet yet, every print is a keeper. Canon Pro Luster and Semi-Gloss photo paper are great for showcasing sharpness and detail. I ordered precision colors ink refill with modified cartridges. I just learned that borderless printing is not recommended so I decided to print 8x10” using 8.5x11” paper and 12x18” using 13x19” paper. Besides, 12x18” frames are 3x cheaper than 13x19” (rare size).

I've printed border-less 13x19. Came out flawless.

No concern about ink over-spraying?

I have some 3 printer heads and a spare printer. I was going to buy this but I think I’m covered. I got all mine free and been using 3rd Party ink and all the buy one get nine deals on paper I’ve had the cheapest printing ever. I think total cost for 8x10 is some 8 cents

Nope.

Do you print with ‘standard’ or ‘high’ quality settings? And also are you using 16-bit driver? I tried using it one time and the print took forever to come out so I switched back to 8-but printing, not sure if there is a difference.

I don't know about a 16bit driver? I print all Photo quality prints at highest settings. It does take a while to print, yes.

Canon's website offers a "PRO-100 series XPS Printer Driver Ver.5.86 (Windows)"
and a "PRO-100 series Printer Driver Ver.1.06 (Windows)".

I don't know why there's such a version number distance between the two,
but the XPS driver is described as
"XPS printer drivers support 16-bpc printing, which enables more smooth gradation printing than the current drivers (8-bpc printing)."

I've had my own PRO-100 for a short time only, and I've only used the XPS drivers
on my Windows 7 Ultimate PC. Print time has come in at around 1 minute for a full-page
print on 8.5" by 11" paper with lots of color variances.
Print output is exceptional, and I don't consider a full minute to be 'slow' for such a large print
at highest quality settings.

I cannot compare to the V1.06 driver, though maybe I should. ;-)a

I was talking a borderless 13x19 print as taking a while to print. 8.5x11 is considerably faster.

Awesome,
and yes, 13x19 paper is meant to be fore a 12x18" matte. The extra inch is for the border that the matte covers.

I've asked before, and I'm gonna ask again:
When, How, Where, does one find the 'buy 1, get nine free' paper deals!?
I've got the printer, so I wanna stock up on the paper!
Whatizit? An email-exclusive invitation?

That crazy paper deal had nothing to do with paper purchases. It was tied into ink purchases. If I recall you could buy the inkset and
get X amount of paper. You could also buy two cartridges and get the same X amount of paper. So by buying eight cartridges two at
a time you got buried in a ton of paper. I believe this was done thru the Canon Store only not normal retailers.

Canon store historically has had an annual buy 1 get 9 free sale on all paper. It's a pretty massive sale... one that I've taken advantage of 3 times and now have over some 6,000 4x6, 3,000 8x10 and last I counted some 1,200 13x19 paper.

I need to start selling my paper lol
