Sweet in spades Travis.
Just noticed you are developing a Batis collection too :)

Not really...I bought the B18 and B25 at the same time a good while ago. Well over a year.
Considering selling the 25....blasphemy as it is...I really want the 35 f1.4.

sweeeeet post your findings on it, i have one on order here in canada,,,,,,,slow,,,,,,haha, i also have the a7iii, post your real world findings

It's just as snappy to lock focus as my FE 85/1.8. In the low light situation with the Stormtrooper, it even did face-detection. Looking forward to using this at a wedding shoot in a couple weeks!

took the lonely ol nifty fifty out last night to a local "metal act" luv how this cheap lens performs, in the crazy lighting it still tried to get eye focus, the little green dot showed up, blew me away,

Another nicety of the Tamron FE 28-75 is close focus. I won't say 'macro' because it's not
truly a macro lens but for me toting a body and a long lens wanting something for the other
possibilities the 28-75 sure is a lightweight addition that doesn't break the back on the long
walks.

I'm still using my Canon 24-105 f4L as my everyday lens. How do you guys feel the Tamron would be compared to this? I can't afford to get the Tamron without selling the Canon. We have a trip to the UK via Hong Kong and home via New York and San Fransisco at Christmas and was wondering about trying to get one for that.

Been through my fair share of em. I still have my 12mm fisheye. I'll be trying the GM out for awhile but the canons are up for sale without interest and for now it's just a debate between the GM and the 12-24.

I wanted to do some testing too.

In a perfect world, I would have the 16-35GM as well as the 12-24, I find that shooting time lapses, 2 UWA zooms +2 normal zooms is what I want. I could get a second 12-24..... or GM, or 16-35f4...

Going to borrow the rx100mk5 as a third body, but considering simply buying an old R instead....

Length versus F2.8. Only you can make that call :)
You're using the A7iii right? Already super ISO capable so F2.8 maybe not so necessary.
On the A7Riii I might be able to crop more and get a cheaters 105 out of the 75mm, maybe.

On our waterfall trip the FE24-105 was my work horse lens but I don't really thing it has any IQ advantage over
the Tamron FE 28-75...maybe a slight edge on build quality but at a weight penalty.

BUT you could actually use the Tam for Milky Way!!!!

Speaking of the rX100v, it is my 'tourist' camera

Tam is much smaller than the 24-105L adapted, it's faster, AF is native, it's real nice, I'de swap in a heartbeat, however I'm a bit biased because I shoot indoors with it a lot, and I also have the 24-240 for longer stuff. I'm really enjoying having both 28-75 + 24-240 for dual body, dual time lapses going at once, just works out really well.

I'm hoping it works out well for timelapses, could really use a 3rd POV!
