That's the first time in many years I've seen another EF 35-135 mm f/4-5.6 USM lens. I have one too. From 1991.

I wish I could say I’ve had this since the early 1990s, but it’s a recent acquisition. I bought an EOS 100 and 28-105 USM from a shop in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1992, and used it a lot and had a lot of fun with it. The focus motor in the lens died around 2000, and I got rid of the camera during a decluttering phase in around 2010. I bought the used 100 body a couple of years ago from eBay in a fit of nostalgia, and I got the 35-135 to go with it as being from the same time period. Used 28-105s are more than I’m willing to pay for nostalgia since I only put 1-2 rolls of film through it per year.

That said, the 35-135 USM is a nice lens. Good IQ IMO provided you don’t get too close to either end of the zoom range.

Mike

When I bought it, together with an EOS 10, my first AF camera, in 1991, it was recently introduced. High-tech Canon EF among the non-L lenses. The camera was Canon's first EOS with multiple AF points (an overwhelming amount of three of them...) No stabilizer back then, but the camera could use the cross-type center AF point to measure vibration, and select an appropriate shutter speed to combat it automatically.
It had several funny features. Programmed scene modes, bar code programmability, built-in sequence timer, intergrated AF-assist light, built-in flash... Used to cameras like the F-1 and T90 as I was, I called it my party camera. Still useful after a few drinks...
That camera died in a soft drink bath, so it's replaced with an EOS 30. No vibration countermeasures, but instead seven AF points to look at, literally. Eye controlled AF point selection, which worked well.
The lens fell out of a car and broke the zoom mechanism, but I took it apart and glued the broken plastic pieces back together. Has worked ever since.
Even today, it works on the 1DX Mark II, but it complains about that it has no lens correction data for the EF 35-135 mm f/4-5.6 USM lens.
