these birds were at a function here with birds and people from Full Flight Birds of Prey Centre
They are dedicated to the protection and conservation of native raptors through public education, breeding and research.

Nice close-up of the masked owl, Richard...excellent sharpness.

So far that was the only occasion that I managed to get that close to a kingfisher. Ugly bg though
