Headshot location?

So, I live in a small apartment. I don't have a studio, but I was curious - where would be a good place to shoot headshots if I wanted to book multiple clients in one day?

I looked into some hotels in the area, but none seem to offer a day-rate. What would another option be? My setup would be two speedlites on umbrellas and a pop-up background (6ft x 5ft) on a light stand.

I thought about just going outdoors, but don't want any kind of wind to move the background. Thoughts?

Considering headshots don't usually require much space, finding a location is usually pretty easy IME. If doing headshots for a business, often times I'll just go to the office and use a conference room to set up in. If that's not an option, does your apartment building/complex have any type of common area where you would be allowed to set up? If not, look for a place that rents conference rooms by the hour, your local library may be a good place to start.

Find a hotel with a conference room for day rental.

I've rented a hotel meeting room for $40.

Also check out local library. They usually have a meeting room and I believe they are free.

I definitely agree with the other posts but I have a few things to add. If this is something you are planning on doing regularly, it may be best to find a studio to rent out. It doesn't have to be huge for headshots but just a space to being clients is nice. I know plenty of photographers that split their studio monthly rentals because multiple people and they share the space. Another option is to contact studios in your area and ask if they do day rentals or anything of the sort. I rent out my studio in Philadelphia, whether they need a few hours or a whole day.

The one thing about going the hotel room route is that people may be a little freaked out going to a hotel room with a stranger. Just my 2 cents.
