MT24EX flash/ MPE65 macro lens
None of these were more than 0.5mm although adult females can reach 1mm, they can be seen as they are white and jump around a lot, but the juvenile obviously wasn't visible to me with naked eye.

indeed I remember my surprise when I first saw images of them and then tried to find my first ones many years ago. Not something you are normally tuned to see.
