That lack of IBIS, though, makes it a less attractive platform to vintage/MF lens users like me. I'm still not in love with the idea of moving to a Sony body, but that might be what I'll do.
The lack of IBIS, while a letdown with regards to vintage/MF glass, is also somewhat of a safe yet conservative move (par for the course for them) in that for a first generation product it means there is one less thing on the body that could potentially malfunction or fail. For example some very early batches of the A7ii had IBIS failure or misalignment issues where the first A7 did not (since there was no IBIS in it). By leaving out IBIS in this generation, they prioritized the dependability of other aspects of the camera. I'm not defending their decision to leave out IBIS, but it's what I see from an engineering perspective which perhaps may have drove their technical and management decision to do what they did.
