Today, I used the Fuji X-T1 with an adapted Canon 300mm F4L IS.

Dead silent (electronic shutter) 8 FPS. They didn't even know I was spraying 8 FPS. Previously, my 1D would spook them on the first mirror slap. This is at 8 feet to subject.

While I was sitting on my patio, I noticed this male was on the lookout to protect 'his' feeder.

Beautifully done shot.

My best one so far with my new Tamron SP 150-600mm G2.

Taken at 600mm.

Very best,

Fantastic shots, Martin. Have you shot any birds in flight? If so does it focus fast enough with the Canon 100-400 to get a high rate of keepers?

Not with this setup, this is a purely manual focus setup. The adapter doesn't have electronic control. For that, I just use my 1D since in flight I'm not close enough to spook them usually (at least where I shoot and what I shoot, when in flight, mostly at the sea shore). I use the silent shutter (electronic shutter) of a mirrorless for this simply because I'm so close and the mechanical shutters are so loud it totally spooks my song birds off the perches.

Very best,
