once I stopped moving the AF point with my nose

really? I'd have thought that they'd have sorted that one out...
The M5 default setting was have touchscreen active while viewfinder was being used, and I must say was the cause of lots of swearing when I first got mine.

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:
TF posting: here :-)

Here is another one from my 1st outing with the EOS R / RF 24-105mm F4 L lens, a wild Eastern Water Dragon in the Roma Street Parklands.

Very impressed with the ergonomics, user interface and overall functionality. This system feels so much lighter compared to my 5D Mk IV.:-)

Cheers

Dennis

Sorry to ask this again, but I just saw another video on YouTube comparing current mirrorless cameras in regards to their 4k and 1080p performance. Just like the first video I watched, this newer video claimed that the EOS R's 4K looked more like 1080p than actual 4K. Is the 5D4's 4K any better?

Curious if you're still swearing. Is the expectation to use the DPAD instead of "touchscreen active while using viewfinder"? I missed a few good shots last night because of nose interference and the focus point was in a top corner instead of the subject.

100% crop showing sharpness of RF 24-105. Something happened to my upload. It was enlarged and does not look sharp at all. It looks like it was enlarged to 150%. The actual crop is tack sharp. User error in uploading images here. If you click the eyeglasses next to the image you will see it in unenlarged aspect as I uploaded it.

A couple from our back garden today with the EOS R & RF 24-105mm F4 L IS.

Close to min focus distance at the 105mm end.

Cheers

Ditto- I assume hand-held? Some sharpening in post, or in-camera jpgs?
They look outstanding, and that lens, along with the smaller, lighter body have me in buy mode. I only wish the burst rate and video specs were better, but might have to live with it, as I don't think I should afford a “pro” version (which will probably be heavier and larger as well.)

Whether it was sharpened or not, the detail is worth noting for a non-macro lens. Even the fine hair-like parts along the legs and slightly behind the back and wings are very defined.
