there is a specific Canon ap if I remember right, get it from Canon themselves.

https://www.canon.co.nz …d-apps/camera-connect-app (external link)

Yes this the app. Got it set up but when attempted use it, got confused by messages!

I did also find the same with the old EOS app, and found that I could only make it work randomly.

Probably something I am doing, or not doing I suppose.

How is everyone?

Yup, back in the Uk now and actually quiet liking it, though I do miss Aotearoa and its wonderful scenery.

I had similar problems but I didn't have a very smart phone, a very smart tablet or a very smart me. So I gave up. A guy who used to post here used I think magic lantern? If memory serves correct it allows remote control as well as adds a few more features to what the cam can already do.

So looked at GFX50 and Hasy X1D-50c both suffer from lack of lens. Canons only option 5Dsr ……….. I see no point on a small jump might as well double MP, I did with 5D classic to 1Dsmk3.

Lets hope Canon introduce something next year ………….. Yeah I know G.A.S is strong with me at moment :)

Why do you need more MP? How big are you planning to print?

spark made me redundant (twice) so their name is herefor excommunicated!

just get your shist together, in your own good time, and for your own good reasons. :-)

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

No plans to print, more about ability to crop. Remember I get gas every 10 years :)

On side note had to adjust my diopter over weekend, no wonder I had trouble seeing in view finder

You have to remember there is a flow on effect here. I get a camera with more MP, then my computer doesn't handle the bigger files any more. So then you have to upgrade your computer. The bigger files the bigger NAS you need.

In my case I will be still taking the crappy photo, but at least they will have details :)

Ahh so you done it the other way,. You need the bigger files because all that processing power isn't being used and we all know if you don't use it, you lose it. ߘ

Well you can print as large as you want. The pixelated look is an artist choice ;)
