Beautiful capture, did you cropped it heavily? But again, very nice!

Cheers,
René.

Does the Canon EF 400mm f/4L IS DO II USM not get much love from photographers? Not many pictures/conversations on this thread; not many owners of this lens? I am thinking of buying one. Recent injury prevents me from carrying 2.8 teles.

Awesome shot. So sharp and beautifully composed.

I think that you'll see most photogs not seeing the benefit over their 100-400 II to warrant the cost, so there aren't as many purchases. And now that the 500 II has dropped into the same price range, it's harder to go with a 400mm. And... Nikon has their new 500 f/5.6 PF that's half the weight and cost. So the DO II has a little more competition now...

Despite those points, this lens is absolutely stunning in every regard. It takes TCs perfectly, and the size of the lens is nice. It's shorter than the 100-400 II zoomed to 400mm!

yes..able to add converters without much loss on sharpness...is a huge bonus. Never used 100-400 to comment on ..
