Well, for me the 1/25 is longest time I am using with 400mm on the tripod and with IS. For handheld I also managed to have sharp pictures with that time. For birds it is usually much shorter and without IS.
Example of 1/25s. Pisture taken just after sunrise.

Extremes are great... its what I think I like the most about photography. getting something out of the ordinary.. awesome..

Right now is probably the worst shooting around here.. Its quite dark all the time.. Soon the snow will aluminate the seen for us creating some cool images.

The pose and lighting on the first one is very nice. I think I would crop out the tracks.
