I thought it was hanging from its own thread. Shows what I know (not much!). Probably an old web from one of the MANY orb-weavers around. I was on a riding lawn mower and nearly hit it with my face. Of course, I used to do that with the large spider webs as well (they would stretch from tree to tree). Marci
