A hangover from earlier days.
The house goes back to the 1860's

There is such a dramatic difference between the budding stage, and the fully open stage. That is truly a beautiful yellow flower (open stage). Very nice photography.

Wattles have a third stage where the seed pods turn a rich mauve-brown and cover the tree then carpet the ground.

Overnight rain shower and high white overcast this morning make a nice combination for this orange hibiscus. They seem to prefer our cooler fall temps.
