^^ Good stuff.

Curious, but, anyone considering trading/complementing their 1Dx for/with an EOS R, besides me? Just wish they’d released an RF 85! vmad

Been a while, but, here’s one from me. All natural light, no flash/reflectors. Taken in a parking garage.

No, the current EOS R offer is too slow.

^^True...for people that shoot sports/bif's, etc. But, for portraits?

I've tossed around the idea, for a while, and it just doesn't add up to me to go with the current R. I'd really miss the shutter button, without purchasing an additional grip (which, mind you, is currently way overpriced and adds a whole lot, to the dollar equation - body + grip + new cards + extra batteries for grip + adapter for EF lenses, etc.). Good thing is, I'm in no rush to give up the 1Dx/85L II combo, any time soon. Heck, my 1Dx only has about 25-30K shots on it...and it's 6 years old. ;)

Sports is why I have my different 1DX cameras. So I'll stay with them for a while longer.

^^For sure. The R is currently not geared for sports. In the future, I'm sure it'll get there.

Meanwhile, my 1 has gone off to Canon for the recall they had a long while ago. Not that it ever affected my camera, but, figured I'd get it repaired under warranty while it's still an 'in-service' machine.

Lastly, here's a HDR landscape image...from King Creek Falls in NC. See, I do take pics of other stuff. :p

Happy to report my camera is back and indeed they changed out a few components. Slapped the 85L II back on, and bam! Everything is good to go. Perhaps a shoot, to clear up any confusion, may be necessary. ;)

Parts that were changed are as follows (for those interested) and the 'mirror count' is now '0' but, all the previous clicks still count and are intact as far as numbering goes. ;)

Eyepiece Ass'y: CG2-3104-000
Mirror Box Ass'y: CY3-1661-020
Screen, Focus EC-CV (5 pcs/box): CY3-1662-000

Have a nice weekend!

A few more with the new lens. Have to say I’m very happy with the lens, it’s sharpness and image stabilisation is amazing
