I came across this little abandoned cemetery pretty deep in the Florida scrub. It was used by the families of the town of Oriole, which is long gone. A lot of those folks being lost to influenza in the late 1800s early 1900s.

Took a little doing to get to.....pretty interesting place.

As you can see by the dates, the Talley family had a very difficult few years. The one stone, which had fallen on it's face, had a really pretty carving on the back. I'm guessing the Gates of Heaven......? I wasn't about to turn it over. When I go into places like this I never touch anything. It is always just as I found it when I leave.

Grave marker found in North Idaho on top of a small flat ridge overlooking the river. Actually a couple just like this one at this location. Does look like it has been here for awhile.

Interesting- there's a "Woodmen of the World" insurance company and building in Omaha, and a little on-line searching shows they are related to your image.

I know........I've seen this headstone on different graves quite a few times. I guess the organization has been around for quite a while.....1882.
