Finally, after over a month, I've got my XT-2 back from Fuji $400 to put the shutter button back on.

Man, hearing stories like yours is disheartening. I feel like if I had a catastrophic failure at this point I'd just take an insurance claim on it (my policy does cover accidental damage, not implying anyone should fraud!).

I'm just curious if you had one of those shutter release extension buttons installed on the camera when it broke. Upon reading your
post and seeing the replacement cost I took a look at my X-T2 just to see how it could possibly break. I have a extension button on
mine which I immediately removed as it looked to make quite the target if bumped into something. Better safe than sorry.

I'm contemplating buying any new Fuji gear from Best Buy and add the warranty. They take everything back and just replace it with new. Until Fuji get's their service up to a professional lever I'm not buying anything else used. So sad to say as I bought thousands of dollars of used Canon gear and never had a problem with CPS.

I thought his repair involved the on/off switch? After seeing a few people having the on/off switch replaced I turn mine on a bit slower these days.

That’s what my X-Pro 2 needed a few months back. The button fell off. About the same price to repair too. I believe mine was around$380.

I did have mine insured. My insurance company cut me a check to replace it. I opted for the XH-1, and got the X-Pro 2 repaired.

My X-Pro 2 did have a soft release button on the shutter. It no longer does now as the x-Pro 2 is known for its wobbly shutter button, and I don’t want to risk it snagging in anything by having a soft release button again.

A few shots of a friend in a tavern with the 7artisans 55mm

I missed focus on the first one, but I still liked it enough to keep it (blasphemy! )

Lenses like this one truly make me question our obsession as photographers with having the nicest "quality" gear.

oh theres always backup..

well the bcam is the xt2 ..

but then theres a sony a7r3.. and a canon t7i with its trusty dual pixel af..

so yeah i'm prepared.. but i'm really hoping I can pull this off going in all Fuji..

the AF in video is improved over the xt2..

however the issue is I only have the kit 18-55 and 35 1.4

i'd like to use the sigma 18-35 , but unlike the gh5( I no longer own) the xt3 doesn't have the awesome m43 IBIS..

i've been working on getting a stabilizer ,, but this shoot got pushed up due to scheduling difficulties and so here I am , i do have a monopod ..

Do you have an external recorder or are you doing it all in camera?

Well, sold my X-Pro 2 this morning. Placed an order for an XT-3. I had debated on whether to get an XT-3 or save a few bucks and get an XT-2. May as well get something "current". Going to miss my X-Pro 2, but wanted something with a similar layout to the XH-1 I have. Bought it in sexy silver.
