that's very nice.
Lovely light.
The light against that beautiful sky is very appealing.

Here's one I took a few years ago at Fishguard in Wales.
If I knew then that I would need it later I may have been more fussy with my shot being as the competition on this site is so annoyingly expert.

Point Atkinson Lighthouse, located in lighthouse park of West Vancouver. Way back in 1792 Captain George Vancouver charted the area and named the headland, Point Atkinson. The original light house was constructed in 1874, which was later replaced by the existing in 1910. When the existing structure was built in 1910 it used a vaporized oil lamp and a Fresnel Lens, which was turned by a clock mechanism driven by a 200lb weight. This 200lb weighted mechanism needed to be wound every 2 ½ hours. Later in 1960 the oil lap and Fresnel lens were replaced by an electric light bulb. In 1994 the federal government of Canada designated the lighthouse a National Historical site. Today the lighthouse is far from its original design, it now uses a very high intensity automated solar-powered light.

Hi Aaron. Nice to have a brief history posted with the picture. Did the lighthouse keeper get the sack if he dozed-off and neglected to wind the weight? Seems similar to most of our lighthouses with the lens mechanism floating on mercury.

thanks Aaron for the details and the excellent photo.
Adds a lot more to the photo.
I find it rather poignant the scene is so beautiful and peaceful. A dead calm sea contrasts so highly with the raging storms these are often associated with to devastating consequences.
But then again a darkest of night and rocks like that and one still could meet a dismal fate.

Really nice photo

Thanks, very kind, especially given all the beautiful shots on this forum - actually I'm trying out a new printer / framer business tomorrow for Christmas gifts and if they do a decent job I may get this printed in the new year (once I work out where to hang it).

Hi Guys.
Stroma Lighthouse on the voyage from Scottish mainland to Orkney.
One shot - two crops.
I didn't know which one to post for best effect - any ideas?
