I'd use the "Quote" button & then remove the text that I didn't want. Be careful not to remove the "Quote" & "/Quote" text.

If uploading to the POTN server rather than embedding an image from another site, use the "Upload images" bar. Make sure the cursor (the I-beam for typing, not necessarily the arrow) is in the typing box. When your image is fully loaded in the A or B slot, click/tap the thumbnail there. The code to insert the image into your post will appear in the typing box. Then hit SUBMIT.

I am unclear exactly what the question is.

Could you be more clear?

Your photo has text on the lower right. If that's how I'm interpreting the OP's post.

I took the OP's question to mean how do you post an image, just an image, without putting words in your post.

If you are asking about attached images via "upload images", you simply have to type something about your image to allow it to be uploaded and stored on POTN. The pop up message that occurs is self explanatory in that regard.

If you can't come up with anything to say, and it's really that important to you to not post any words to go along with your image, simply input some characters.

Or if that's asking to much of you, host the images on your own service, and then you can embed them here without even having to type so much as a --> . <--

Chet raises one of the reasons I am unsure if we are answering the correct question, a totally different interpretation of the question.

Both embedded and attached will have some text associated
this one is embedded;

Thus my request for clarification

Attached doesn't need any text. You just need to get the code for the image into the typing box. Of course, the IMAGE HOSTED BY FORUM SERVER line will be below the image. I'm not counting that.

I haven't used embedding since Photobucket went blooey, so I don't remember how.

That's as blank of a canvas as you can get in my post above. Still shows Meta data and EXIF though.

No one but you will see EXIF on your own screenshot.

EDIT: In fact, I didn't get an EXIF statement this time myself. There's usually a line saying EXIF can't be found.

When I upload a photo it shows up in the upload preview window but if I don’t have any text in the subject box it won’t accept it when I click on submit.

I saw a post about this a few weeks ago and it seemed like the solution was to hold down a key while clicking in the subject or description box but I can’t remember the key combination.

^^^ minimum amount of text.

You can turn the text grey if you want it to be even less apparent.
