I have posted this image as it may be of historical interest to our buddies across the pond. Please take a few minutes to read the Wiki Link. And - if you want your boat back, please feel free to come and get it, I am sure nobody will object.
This is the remains of the SS Richard Montgomery. Which ran aground and broke up in the Thames estuary after its voyage from Delaware river in Aug 1944. It remains to this day as seen in my picture. It has been deemed too dangerous to disturb and is kept under the watchful eyes of the appropriate marine and safety authorities. The wreck lies about 1.5 miles from the town of Sheerness on the Isle of Sheppey.
The wreck is stuffed full of unstable ammunition, bombs and explosives to assist in the war effort, and it is considered so dangerous, that if it does explode it will shatter most of the windows in the nearest town.

I thought that might be the case. But I had to try, thanks.

I always love seeing pictures of this vessel - formerly the Stockholm that has been in service for over 70 years, I've read that her stout ice-breaking construction (that assisted her to survive her collision with the Andrea Doria back in the 50's) has enabled her hull to remain to this day as an active-going passenger ship.

Canon 80D, 700D & G7 X; EF-S 10-18/18-135 STM, EF-S 18-135 IS USM, 50 F1.4, 100 F2.8L Macro, 16-35 F4L, 70-200 F4L IS; 100-400 L II, Speedlite 430EX II

Glad you liked the pics. I never knew about the ice-breaking characteristic or the history of the ship, I will research it later. I mainly post my shipping pics on marinetraffic.com
