yes the snow was a bit early...we got a touch under 7" of it. It was gone mostly the next day, so the perfect kind of snow. They should all be like that.


And since you like snow...My red breasted nuthatches are still daily visitors. There are 3 of them. :D :D :D

This is the question everyone asks. The ring around the neck is a very pale, barely visible ring. The ring on the bill, however, is very noticeable. So why wasn't it named a ring-billed duck? I have no idea. Smarter people than me named this duck, so there must be a good reason for the name they gave it.

In the photo below, you can barely see the reddish colored ring around the neck of the duck.
