Very nice close-up...extremely sharp, Justin.

Wicked shot. We have some of these in this area but I've never happened upon one!

A bunch of these nest up at our cottage.

I was actually taking shots of them in flight one day
and upon close inspection of the photos they were actually catching
insects mid-flight. Really agile with acrobatic maneuvering.

Good news Kevin
I was just about to send you a message to see how its going.
Well the proofs here.
Don't extend yourself too much too soon.
I've had too many eye ops to know that. We're all different, but eyes are precious.
Take care.

Thanks Richard. Yeah, it's amazing just how bad my eyes were for a long time, without me really knowing. I guess it's because it's a slow decline that one doesn't notice that much. I can't remember ever seeing things so bright and detailed as I do now and would recommend anyone who needs glasses to ask first if it's the onset of cataracts causing the problem. Even if it isn't a major deterioration it could pay to get them sorted as soon as possible as it can save years of wearing glasses until such time as they have to be sorted.

Unbelievable beautiful bird Kevin. Very nice shot, and good news about the eye.

Thanks Mike

Really! I've spent my whole life around nature and the new things I've gotten to see with good photography equipment amazes me!

Great pose and detail - and the dark green background sets off the bird very well.
