That is one lovely looking castle!!!

its full of all manner of unique and fanciful stuff...

its not REALLY a castle but more a Large Manor built by Major-General Sir Henry Mill Pellatt from the Canadian "Queens Own Rifles" (regiment?) with fortunes made in railroad and hydro-electric investments...

built over the years 1911-1914...

There's your hint. Real castles are not lovely. They were built to make somebodies life miserable. They were built to take a beating. If it looks lovely then somebody realized his romantic fantasies.

Mey Castle. The most Northerly of the Royal Castles. Located in Thurso, Scotland.
Purchased by the late Her Majesty The Queen Mother in 1952.
An excellent and comfortable interior and gardens with an abundance of colourful flowers in the well maintained grounds.
A must visit.

Chinon Castle from the bank of the Vienne river in France. This is where Joan of Arc met with the Dauphin of France in 1429.

Inspeqtor, you'd love it, especially if the weather is kind to you. Speaking from experience, avoid going in the winter months unless duty calls.
