Thanks! It's a beautiful place. The Havasupai tribe issues permits only once a year, and the permits go quickly. Last year it was February 1st. I don't think a date's been set for 2019 yet.

Hand-held w/ the 50L :) My daughter watching the mobile as she drifts off to sleep. The AF barely locked on, very dark.

Haven't pressed the shutter in a while. Except for storms I'm a fair weather photographer. A friends band played their first gig. Some high ISO stuff. I used a few presets that added grain.

Really like the black and whites. color seems a bit too much grunge/clarity (not talking grain)

Going to show off here... shot in the same second, focus on one boy, then the other, consecutive shots. Changed the crop to match each other.
AF is pretty solid on this camera.

I did both normal and grunge for some. The kids can pick what they like.

If you use case 3 AF will drop the subject that is in focus faster when the AF point lands on the next subject. +2 is instant.

It is the opposite of Case 2. Case 2 makes AF stubborn to drop focus on a subject if the AF point goes off momentarily. Birders like using it because sometimes the bird moves unexpectedly.

I was tracking this bird and it put the breaks on and swopped up. It didn't try to re-focus on the water and all the shots through the burst sequence (10) were in focus. With TS at -2 you get about a second but at 10fps it makes a world of difference.

Case 3 is great for tracking two people running for example and you are switching between them.
