I was really torn. I do wholeheartedly believe that the RF system will be a success and that it truly represents Canon's interchangeable lens future. I think I just need to wait for the right RF system body, for me, to come out. Until then I can't imagine a better camera to shoot with than the 5D4.
As an aside I do a lot of trekking in the mountains with the 5D4 carried on a bracket on my backpack strap. I have no concerns about the 5D4 and, say, the 16-35/4L IS (with a lens coat) taking whatever the conditions throw their way: bumps, rain, dust. I would be worried about this initial R body. It's not as weather sealed and doesn't seem as stout. So that's another big reason for me to wait for a pro body.
Finally, I did keep the control ring adapter. So I'm hopeful for that pro body!
Cheers.
