Ouch Mel, that look painful. I too prefer to see something less of your fall and more along the traditional fall, like pumpkin pie. Who doesn't like pumpkin pie around fall time?

You missed the whole ordeal!!

Crashed bike, broke ribs, bruised/scraped legs, overstretched shoulder.

Tomorrow it will be two months since the crash. Haven’t been back on the bike since. By the time my ribs were feeling up to riding again, the weather turned cold and super wet. Now we have snow.

Oh no!! Time to sell the bike, I'd say. They have some really nice recumbents out there. You would get hurt worse trying to fall off that thing than actually falling off it! Not sure how well they do on trails. Prolly some youtube vids out there tho...

My wife has a recumbent, they are definitely not trail bikes. A Ford Super Duty F-350 SuperCab has a tighter turning radius.

My SIL has one. The trails in our area are paved and have bars located conveniently throughout the trail system. My surprise was the cost. She paid like 3k for hers. I haven't tried one yet, but I hear they are fantastic for people with back issues. I'm not ready to let go of my hybrid just yet. Plus the height gives me visions of ending up under the front end of a Ford Super Duty F-350 SuperCab.
