My 17 year old Grand Daughter in her First Modeling and Talent Show. This Venue was pretty bad as far as lighting goes, jam packed and a bad attitude from management ( A whole other story LoL! ). The Images are heavily cropped. But my Grand Daughter liked them enough to put some time in to help me build a studio in a spare room so we can do this right. So don't laugh too hard.

The crap in the background is a crappy projector showing Dim lit crappy grainy Images of the Girls on Stage, kind of like Before and After, very rinky dink production( Face meets palm)...........

BTY, the Makeup she paid $250 for made her look like 7 of 9 but I didn't tell her that( Face meets palm again ).............

wow, the make up artist wasn't that good, not for $250

however your granddaughter is stunning, and I think you'll have some great success with her.

But... it's hard to be at 200mm in a studio inside a house.. and that is part of the look that is nice about these images.

Study natural light as well, and how to tame it outside, be creative, and most of all have fun.

The background isn't really that bad, and some use projection to great effect in their photos...

North Carolina is too far from Kansas, darn it, or we could have a ton of fun!!!

I do this once or twice a year with a falconer...

I like the grain and she's beautiful. Perhaps try to work on the magenta in the skin a bit?

Definitely too much magenta for sure! She has some serious model potential though!

Thanks for the tips! I'll work on that Magenta. I have all kinds of natural light in the spare room and I'll see what I can get with the 85mm 1.8 and the 24-105L at 105. The images were almost 1 to 2. I learned a lot on this outing...........

If you shoot in raw format, you can select the color balance in Lightroom for the actual lighting you shot in. You can try a few different selections to see what looks best if the correct one seems off.

i concur...

shooting under the High Pressure Sodium/Mercury Vapor (not sure which is which) for football, sometimes Fluroescent works really well even though the game isn't played under Fluroescent lighting

-im just trying. sometimes i succeed
