Impressive shot- crisp focus isn't easy to get on those birds in flight.

Thanks :-). That's true, I've spent many frustrated hours in pursuit of them...even trying to get them in the frame has been a challenge lol

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

I have used the combo of 7D2 and Tamron 150-600 for more than 1200 small bird shots. Have since been using the 100-400 Mk2 plus 1.4X extender for the past year, seems to be slightly better in AF precision, small detail, and IS. However, the two are very close overall IMO and both produce great results.

Taken the first week of the season. This was earlier in the evening during daylight savings time but this is the first year since I started shooting high school football I haven't needed a flash! I upgraded from the 7D to the 7d MKII and it is that much better with noise!
