Did some exploration in some Missouri Caves this past weekend. First image is of my dive bud as we explore a cave called Roubidoux Cave about 2hrs away from St.Louis. We're both on rebreathers and I'm shooting with my 8-15

...second image (of many, many image I shot this weekend )is of Ray near one of the underwater habitats. These caves are so long that the habitats allow explorers a chance to get out of the water and warm up a little while on a lengthy decompression stop.

Both are nice shots. I enjoyed your commentary.

The Gannets were obliging at the Canso Causeway today (separating mainland Nova Scotia from Cape Breton Island) by diving close to the causeway, but the shot I really wanted was a diving shot with a background of fall leaves, rather than water or sky. Only took me 400 shots and a very tired arm...

Juvenile Northern Gannet (in French, Fou de Bassan), Canso Causeway, NS, Oct 27th.

I love to be able to capture emotion....both in people and animals.

These two guys ran neck and neck for several hundred yards. Now....here they are feet from the finish, the horses are all out and you can really see the frustration of second place on this rider's face.

So that metal box there is something cave divers can get into to rest, and it has a breathable atmosphere in there?

These are habitats that allow those doing extremely long dives 15+ hours to get out of the water to "warm up". Water transfers heat 25x faster than air so this is a serious issue for divers. This particular cave has several of them at various depths. This cave has only been surveyed to 12,000' and it continues to go on...probably one of the longest cave systems in the United States...Thanks for asking...

...another shot of Ray as we are still ascending from a lengthy dive/photo-shoot. If you look behind him and slightly to the right you will see another habitat.

I seem to do an epic fail on baby pictures.. I don't know why, they just aren't what I can do, but these seem ok.
