WORLDWIDE PHOTO WEEK: Part 644 - Gates

Every week we select a new theme, and then go out and shoot that theme. This week the theme is Gates. As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.


Show us some Gates


Here are the rules:
1. Shots need to be taken between Monday Sunset and the following Monday by Sunset (Whenever that is for you ). Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives. Snapshots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!
2. Post your shots at any time during the week.
3. Post a maximum of two shots if you're uploading them to POTN (i.e., attaching them). You can post more than two if you're linking to shots that are not hosted by POTN (i.e. embedding them) but keep within POTN rules. Also keep within POTN rules about size. I have shot a number of interesting gates on my travels, but I can't think of any within reasonable radius from home.

So here are a few gatefold sleeves, LP and CD.

On an aside, the sax shot on the bottom right CD sleeve is a photo of mine

I've been there, over and over. Sympathy from here.

I had other gates in mind, but wintry weather kept me home. We've had a series of storms. Not raining today, but unusually cold. Maybe this topic could repeat at another time of year? Some people did provide interesting gates, even in snow. I wonder how they get their fingers to work.

For winter shooting, I got myself a pair of these, https://www.rei.com …rus-heatwave-liner-gloves
They are super thin and I can easily handle the camera controls with them on. And when not shooting, I throw a pair of thick gloves over them.

Hope that it went okay and everything is good to go for the holidays. I have to go later this month, but its just a cleaning.

My 2 year old granddaughter was visiting us this week while her mom and dad had a much needed break. The little darling proceeded to wear grandpa and grandma out, but we'll recover in a day or two.

Lots of photos of her, but no gates. Sorry.

Ah, lucky. When our daughters were two, we needed gates all over the house

We get a lot of sun here and thin black gloves make for nice hand warmers! Also one thing we have lots of in ranching country is gates ... the skeleton gate is our next door neighbor, he put it up for Halloween and decided to keep it.
