He's a really wonderful and unique buck, Terry. . And he is still young ..... meaning that he is only going to get better over the next few years!

Mass is the thing I value most in antlers, and this guy is exceptional in that department!

.

Next year if all goes well I will spend more time in his area. He is very unique with that mass.

He is so much bigger this year than he was last year - and is still quite young ..... meaning that very good things are in store for next November!

My apologies for the poor quality of this sequence. My wife and I were out for a drive scouting for ducks when we came upon this young buck in a cut-over rice field. He was running at about 35 MPH while I was doing my best to keep up with him as my wife was doing her best to hold the steering wheel from the passengers seat and keep us between the ditches. All things considered, the running deer, the moving truck and the bumpy gravel road, I wasn't too unhappy with the results. Would of been happier with tack sharp images but......... :-)

That's so cool that you got to photograph him on an all-out run. . Those opportunities are rare, and special!

Thanks for sharing the series with us - it's appreciated.

I enjoyed the "behind the scenes story" of how you got the sequence, easy to visualize. Nice job by both you and your wife, thanks for sharing! John

Doc, since I’m not too far down the road from you, I just want to know what kind of truck you drive so I can be on alert whenever we chance meet! ߘӰߘ

Keith, I don’t blame you. I wouldn’t want to be on the road with someone like me either. ;-)a

No worry though. Over the years my wife has become pretty good at steering from the passenger seat. :-P
