Sony A7III

Ok thanks. I have seen so many of the reviews with the adapter that contradicted each other so I had kind of given up on buying one.

get the FE 85 f1.8, totally worth the price, and ebay is having a 15% off deal right now.

the premium over adapted is totally worth it for a few reasons

1. You get 10 fps tracking
2. AF is really good on the 85
3. Size will be noticeably smaller AND lighter.
4. Adapters are fiddly.

My first A7III kept locking up so I ended up buying a second one and sent the first body to Sony Pro support, turns out the IBIS was dead, they replaced everything and now the camera is like new (initially I thought they had sent me a new camera, it looked like it lol), now to decide if I keep both or sell one I also picked up a 24 GM and WOW it is nice, these days I'm shooting 24 1.4 55 1.8 and 135 1.8, really enjoying the primes

Which 135 f/1.8? I love my Sonnar 55 and im gonna get the 24mm soon

I use the Sigma 135mm f/1.8 and Zeiss 55mm

Great images folks, love the look coming off the A7III. I currently have the A9 and 85mm 1.8 and love what I'm getting from it. I am going to buy the A7 III in the next week to have for a 2nd body. I also have the Metabones 5 adapter for all my Canon L glass until I can replace with Sony. My testing so far has been excellent and I am now a Sony convert.

The more I shoot the Sony A7iii body I am finding it to be such a feature rich tool. I'm not the sort to just praise and sing wonders either just because of gear acquisition. The more and more I use it the sensor performs really leaps ahead of my Fuji gear. Also the mirrorless tech is different than my mirrored bodies.

Cant let the mirrored bodies go just yet as I still notice more hunting in mirrorless bodies. I just cannot let this ever so slight advantage go (substantially less AF hunt especially with red focus assist) of mirrored bodies.

In the meantime the A7iii is getting a lot of love time. What is so painful is dropping a lot more coin for GM glass vs the Pro L glass.

Another thing is I use a camera for functionality. I wont start proclaiming "oh its the pure joy of ergonomics and feel of a camera that makes me shoot more" LOL!!! The Sony A7Riii, A9 and cheaper A7iii have a nicer feel the previous generations IMO.

I'm wishing the A7iii didn't have the blackout in the viewfinder. This is where the A9 is such a better beast.

For me I didnt expect the A7III to replace my 7DII but after I got it and saw the images I got from the body...I got sold.. Its really a lot like my 7DII in the best ways, like responsiveness and the AF performance trades blows with it (Ive had times where the 7DII would be better, times the A7III has been better) and because with smaller lenses like my 55mm f/1.8 it makes an excellent small package to throw in my messenger bag and take everywhere i go. By doing that I do get to shoot more than otherwise. Versatile and just having a lot for the price is honestly the best way to describe it.

A couple months with the Sony and I think I'm getting the hang of it.

Beautiful

I "upgraded" to the A7iii from the A7Rii and have really noticed the difference in autofocus in lower light is much better. The eye auto focus now works with people with glasses and grabs the eye much better than the Rii. Battery life is so much better it's to the point I don't even think about if I brought more batteries or a spare anymore. I bought an extra battery with the camera and the only time I use it is if I forgot to charge the one in the camera.

I do notice the difference in the quality of the EVF compared to the Rii which was very good. This for me is the only negative think I have encountered.

Overall this is an excellent camera for the price point and does as advertised.
