My wife sent me a link the other day to the fantastic work of German photographer Christian Vieler, who has produced some incredibly fun images of dogs having snacks tossed their way. I thought it might be fun to set up a little studio in my man cave and see if we could make some similar images with our dogs. They were very willing to help, and didn't seem to mind when we had to keep trying and trying to get the timing and focus just right.

I think he is using a wide angle lens which gives more depth of field - hence easier to get both the mouth and the eyes sharp. Also freezing motion in studio is often done with speedlights because they have a shorter flash period, ambient light needs to be cut completely.

Spent the weekend in chilly Duck Creek Village, Utah. Harley enjoyed the change from Las Vegas weather.

He'd never seen a pool table before; over the course of two days and numerous games of pool, he never lost his excitement of watching the colorful balls, and he was constantly runing around the table to follow them, panting, and wagging his tail nonstop. :-D

First snow of the season over the weekend here in the Boise area. Mikey (now six months old) really enjoyed his first walk in the snow with the rest of the crew!

I like the light, but not the WA distortion on his muzzle. (Sorry!)
