That is looking good. Are these stacked? If not, it almost looks as if the dof is improved.

I‘m working on optimizing using the Laowa 25 mm ... lighting is the main issue

Thanks, #1 and 2 are two frame stacks, #3 is 4 frames. All shots set f- stop was f/8, subjects are 1-2 mm long.

Isn’t that D. saundersi with the Papal Cross battery on the rear of the abdomen?

You probably know better than me, this is the ID I used before for ones in the same place.

This species is very similar to Dicyrtomina ornata, however D. ornata has a solid patch of dark pigment at the posterior end of the abdomen whereas in Dicyrtomina saundersi, this patch has a distinctive "multi-barred cross" pattern.

Ah ok they are both a bit barred https://www.naturespot​.org.uk/node/132553 (external link) but D. saundersi the barres are more separated being a good match for my specimen, quite tough isn't it.


I have some older shots marked as D. ornate, I think this is safe, what do you think?
