wow i just cheked the site for my a7iii and it shows working on the update,,,, i already updated when it was released in oct, what exactly is the issue u are having? i recenty purchased a sony brand uhs card for slot 1 supposed to have the fastest write times, i have decided to shoot in uncompressed raw to see if i notice any quality differences so thats why i got the high speed card. i notice it doesnt seem to write very fast,i see the progress in the bar at the top, and i only shoot singe shots, not using the buffer, doesnt seem any faster than my old non uhs card, is the issue u are having related to read/write speeds?

basically my brand new uhs-I Sandisk extreme card only works in slot 2, however my Samsung card I bought works in both so it’s all good

I had the same issue with Sandisk ExtremePro cards and I don't have V2 firmware on my R3 I think this is a different issue. The old versions of those cards work.

All my new and old Lexar 1000x and 2000x cards work in the A7iii so far on FW2.0. I don’t have any SanDisk cards to test.

Our Lady of the Lake University behind the cormorant and egret colony at Elmendorf Lake in San Antonio. This one was tricky to edit since I wanted to bring out the subtle color in the sky and texture but retain the long exposure in the water while keeping tonal values in check.

Nice. Strobe?

I returned the 135. unlike before i kinda not like the working distance anymore. on my last family portrait, it was to get the attention of the little kids because I was so far away. they're looking everywhere.

I'm planning to try the Sigma 105.

Yeaaah 135mm working distance is not the best..particularly for loosely framed family stuff.

I think 105mm is a nice middle ground between 135mm and 85mm. I just like to 85GM too much to give it up. Renders much more nicely than the Sigma.

135mm is a nice option to have in the bag though...when you really need that 135mm FOV to compress distracting stuff out of the frame.

I'm waiting for my buddy to get his and try out, I won't deal with the 135 working distance if it can be helped, but a 70-200 replacement is generally how I use it. Family or kid portraits, 85, even 50 are fine, I don't hesitate using either. I'll use 50 often for group shots, feel the separation is fine. 85 f1.4 is definitely extra sauce for sure however, not as particular as I use to be.

Sigma has released a new APS-c specific lens.....56/1.4. I grabbed a copy and it seems to be quite nice. Razor sharp wide-open. Quick, quiet, accurate AF. Eye AF seems to work better than any other lenses I've used. Nice bokeh. Really glad to have an~85mm equiv back in the bag!
