Very nice shot Trik.

Many thanks, Bill.

that's a cracker Kate, I have one or two of what I think are marsh tits visiting here, no photo yet though, how are you sure this is not a willow tit?

Thank you, Sid.
Willow versus Marsh? Well, I did hope it might be Willow, but a search online revealed a few "tells", including a white spot on the cutting edge of the upper mandible, close to the body; the bottom edge of the black bib cut off fairly tidily, rather than spreading down the breast; and a somewhat glossy black cap, all of which the Willow doesn't have. Apparently the song/call is a bit different, too, but I didn't take much notice at the time.

Thanks, pcs.
This was the only Tit that sat in the holly (the others were more interested in eating), but I did chose this shot to upload, as I thought it was almost appropriate - a change from Robins! Snow on the branches would have been even better!

Lovely place Trik, used to go there a lot, remember going in early autumn when they let the pigs out to feed on the acorns and visiting the Royal Oak pub for a swift half or four too.

We were there a couple of years or so ago (when my shot was taken) and, yes, it is nice, if you watch where you put your feet! Too many dog walkers not picking up, plus cow pats, duck doings, pony poo...
