Cameras that is  The girls are certainly very pretty.
These girlfriends made a pilgrimage from Japan to Guam in order to place a heart-shaped love-prayer on the wall of hearts overlooking Two-Lovers Point, so named for two young lovers of long ago that committed suicide together by leaping off a cliff at this point into the sea below because their parents forbade them to marry. The wall extends a good ways beyond them camera left and is pretty much full with thousands of heart-prayers. They are photographing the sunset.

Well, you know what they say: the best camera is the one you have with you. A good photograph is 95% photographer and 5% gear.

Joe
Gear: Kodak Instamatic, Polaroid Swinger. Oh you meant gear now.

Per your title... which ones of these are the bad, the good, and the ugly? Maybe I'm being dense and missing the point.......

My take was that he was referring to the cameras that the pretty girls are using. DSLR-good, P&S-bad, iPhone-ugly?

Ah, got it.... funny thing is my son has a new iPhone XS.... takes wonderful images. Not necessarily 5D killers, but for your daily shooting, now that has full manual controls... not bad.
