Was thinking about one of those Olympus goodies - but trying to talk myself out of it. Had some kitchen stuff done ...

Panasonic G9: Panasonic Vario 14 -140 f/3.5-5.6
Canon M5: A variety of Canon, Sigma, Tamron, Tokina, prime and zoom lenses, Samyang fisheye, 2 lovely Minolta MD, and just for fun a Helios 44-2 58m.

I went and had a play with canon 5DS :)

Big pix is 50mp smaller insert pix is 21mp from 1Ds

This is a very unforgiving camera, focus has to be nailed, all glass has to be mico adjusted focused in camera to make sure its correct, and handheld at slow shutter speeds wont work

tiff files are 250meg each after basic edits. So am I buying ……….

Its a case do I upgrade and there are not many options for me or I get a cheaper smaller camera for my wife i.e 5d3. We have all lens, flashes, tripods etc. Im stuck with Canon EF and don't want to spend a lot on a body for her if she get board :)
There are a lot of plus aspects to the 5DS, but when people cant provide original box I get concerned.

MAJOR UPDATE

mrs weka will be joining us soon with her new secondhand Canon 5Dmk3 with new shutter from ProGear :)

She found 1D to heavy and I wasn't ready to retire from it just yet Im so used to it a 5D just doesn't feel right ……. if it aint broke don't fix it :)

PS when will people learn to use youtube

Would Mrs Weka be more comfortable with a mirrorless camera. I only say this because I had a 70D which I loved, and felt it fit my hand perfectly. Then I read about mirrorless, and because I have a Christmas Club which I usually splurge on a lens or some such, two years ago I bought M5, thinking it would be my back up camera.

However, within days, weeks, it was apparent I was not using the the 70D at all, as I loved the light weight M5. I've now lent my 70D indefinitely to a work colleague who is doing a camera course, but didn't have the gear for it. She's doing great stuff, which is nice to see :-)
