Kind of an old picture, but a good one. Northern Minnesota around March, 2017.

Just got back from Iceland! Seeing the aurora was a huge bucket list thing for me, so much so that we specifically went to Iceland this time of year so we'd have a decent chance of catching it without having to go in the middle of winter. Absolutely incredible experience, I still can't believe I saw what I saw!

Thank you very much! Iceland was such an incredible place, everything about it was so surreal! Look forward to seeing your aurora photos :)

My first post outside of the Wildlife or Bird forums, from a recent trip to Iceland. Taken from a tour boat sailing out of Reykjavik's Old Harbour. Camera was mounted on a tripod set on a table on the top deck. I was concerned that the motion of the ship would result in blurred shots, and you can see the rolling motion reflected in the arcs of the stars and lights on shore, but the shot is a good representation of the aurora itself.

Finally seen it after moving to the northern coast of Scotland 5 months ago and watching the aurora forecasts daily. Many hours sat in the cold looking at clouds knowing there were lights on the other side of them. Tonight I got lucky and the lights made an appearance. So this is from my very first proper aurora shoot this evening. I am very pleased with the experience and the end result.
