yes I’m probably going to get one. I’m only hesitant as I previously bought a GoPro to capture more family stuff and it didn’t work out. A combination of the wide angle and the non stabilised footage put me off. This seems to address both those points though. My son is 5 and my daughter is 1 now and I’ve got a really low amount of video of them which I regret so want to change that ASAP. Even if I don’t edit it into anything polished as a bare minimum I just want random clips of family life as I know I will enjoy them later

Editing video is probably the biggest hurdle with video. Anyone can press the record button, but getting usable footage is difficult. I like DJI's approach of having editing tools in their app and interfacing to the phone, which means I can edit from the app and/or airdrop to a macbook and continue further. These small differences can mean video or no video. Of course your phone is the most handy video tool there is since it's so convenient. To me, that's Osmo's biggest competitor, convenience of a phone that's quite stable as is. I recorded my kids with santa over the weekend and made a small clip out of it, and I think it turned out well. It was outside at night, the worst shooting conditions, and the phones have progressed so much over the years.

I could definitely use an osmo for more action shots, walking or running with a phone isnt happening.

This photo is captured by Chinese Satellite with 24.9 billion pixels of quantum technology. It's worth seeing! You can zoom in, zoom out when you look at it. You can clearly see every gesture, even face of pedestrians on the road.

I wish I had the video capabilities available now when my daughter was one year old. I had a super-8 film camera that shot 50ft rolls. Each roll had to be sent in to be developed and to view them, I had a projector and screen. Of course, half the time the projector bulb was burnt out it seemed and there was no audio! To watch more than 50 feet of film at a time, I did have a mechanical splicer so I could splice together several small spools to make one large one.

Not to get maudlin Eddie, but I encourage you to video everyone in your family...often. How I wish I had video with sound of my parents, grandmother and aunts and uncles while they were still living. Don't get hung up on the equipment and technicalities or worry about editing, just shoot first and worry about the rest later.

Well Gene thanks for that, it was enough to tip me over the edge. You should contact DJI and ask for commission:). Seriously though you hit home with that and made me realise I should stop pondering and start shooting

I am thinking the same thing...mine is 7 now, we stopped doing video 6 years ago outside of cell phones, the video camera was just too hard to get the videos from it to a viewing point...this might be easier...and now I have learned to edit video in PSCC...might just have to buy us one too...

Just think of me fondly when you reach my age and are watching videos with a big :-) on your face of your children you took when they were very young.

and just like that...one will be here Thursday...just in time for Christmas...I added a 128GB card...I already have an Anker Battery pack if I need more power...this will do nicely for family stuff...and I want to start doing some on location video too...this will do that as well! It was time to order new portable hard drives for 2019, and a new one for 2018 since the others are full now...

Thanks Sony Thread...pockets are lighter...
