I absolutly love when they sleep like this, with the tip of the tongue sticking out. It says a lot about how relaxed he is. Good news that he came home again.

Renata,

Your post came in as I was typing a reply above.
Yes, I love the one with the paw hanging out and it is true that I am spending way too much time pointing a very costly camera at cats,
and then cloning out tiny flecks of things out of their fur and their nostrils.
(I may need therapy)

I hope that the teens next door do not renege on their agreement and disrupt this cat.
It is a long story that does not involve photos, so I should stop here.

I do think it is great that this forum and this thread exist for us.
(I know where the donation thread is :-) )

Mark, there's never too much time being spent on pointing a very costly camera at cats! I'm a complete kitty freak and I understand. No therapy needed :-)

I, too, hope that the teens next door don't renegade on their agreement...keeping my "paws" crossed.
Heck, I would love to hear the rest of the story, so don't stop and tell the story, please.

My little boy isn't so little any more....25 pounds, and a year still left to grow.

We had to say goodbye to Ivy earlier this week - she was getting old and she was never terribly hearty (she was a rescue that had spent some hard times on the street before she came to us) so her kidney problems and a rapid loss of weight due to recent infection were too much for her to overcome. We still have two cats, but losing Ivy has been a big blow to the children in particular.

Peace be the journey, Ivy.
My Chloe traveled the same path as Ivy; in birth, life and the same malady...
You are not alone, and we stand with you.

I would like to thank the forum members that "liked" the post about a cat named Rocky moving away, or found something supportive to say.
My spouse Mary & I felt like Brooks Hatlen in the film The Shawshank Redemption, waiting for his bird Jake to return.
We kept going to our windows throughout the days and nights, looking for a sighting of an absent Rocky. It was just awful.

I wish to keep this post about photography but I also am compelled to report that at perhaps 8:00 PM Saturday night, a resident of the house that abuts mine was at my door, with Rocky in his arms. He came to basically surrender the cat and offer him for adoption (they had quarantined him inside, apparently). My spouse & I discussed this with the person offering the cat and adoption forms were printed and signed by all. Later, I covered my bases by providing our local police department with copies of everything, as that they have been involved with this cat and on many more occasions, with these abutters.

Rocky had a rough first night and was hissing at and scratching me, but one day later he was back to being the lovable cat that we knew, and is now going to live the rest of his life as a pampered member of a "forever family". Boy, can he eat and sleep!!

Awesome!!

Thanks again,

Mark A.

Sometimes, the "right" things happen...and it happened for Rocky and you.

I use to think the same way, but not anymore.

Taking constant pictures of my cats has honed my skills as a photographer, taught me lighting, fast changes in settings, composition, framing and patience. Furthermore, the photographs of my girls for whom I love dearly are for me and my wife, for our "remember whens". And I also enjoy to share my girls with others who are OWNED by cats in places such as these forums, and I equally enjoy everyone else's sharing about their feline family members.

Regardless of what photographic tools I use, I take my cat's pictures for me, and you...not the naysayers of the photographic community.

To all here; it is not a Photography SIN to take pictures of cats, nor is it a SIN to use top-of-the-line equipment to do so.

Regards all

jason

Thanks Renata. :-D Yes, I find cat's eyes in general to be beautiful. His aren't yellow, they are more of a golden color.
